AVERAGE used car values rose marginally in February, increasing by under half a per cent to £5,959, according the latest figures from British Car Auctions.

The overall average value for cars sold last month showed a month-on-month increase of £20 compared to January’s figure of £5,939.

Values remain ahead year-on-year by £388 - a 6.9% increase – indicating continuing recovery in the car market.

BCA spokesman Tony Gannon said: “Supply and demand remains well balanced in the used market, and February has been a much more typical month following the weather-affected start to the year.”
