RENAULT has lifted the wraps on a new slimmed down model range - with the spotlight on driving its Va Va Voom brand image.

It means the French company will concentrate on seven core car and van line-ups, along with its imminent Twizy and Fluence zero emissions range ahead of the arrival of the Dacia brand with its Duster SUV and Sandero supermini.

Departing the UK market, however, will be several models that have become time-honoured sights on British roads.

So full-blown people carrier the Espace, family car the Laguna, mini-MPV the Modus, plus the Kangoo car and compact van ranges all make an immediate exit.

The Renault Wind, still a relative newcomer, is also withdrawn while the sporty Gordini models are no longer available to order and the core Twingo Renaultsport 133 range has been pruned to one version.

Renault’s new stable sees the electric order book open for the Twizy range triplets - Urban, Colour and Technic - priced from £6,690 plus monthly battery hire from £45, ahead of an April launch.

Joining the Twizy are two new versions of the marque’s Fluence Z.E. saloon in the shape of Expression+ and Dynamique models, priced from £17,495 after the Plug-In Car Grant, plus battery hire from just under £70 per month.

And the last of Renault’s four-model Z.E. range, ZOE, is primed to arrive in the autumn.

Traditionally-powered cars will comprise up to three versions per model, excluding Renaultsport. So the Clio and Megane will have all three versions - Expression+, Dynamique TomTom and GT Line TomTom.

New Twingo is available in Dynamique trim, priced at £10,350, until the arrival of its pocket rocket flagship in the spring and the restyled Scenic and Grand Scenic 2012 range is also available to order now, in a simple line-up of five and seven-seat versions of Dynamique TomTom, plus the option of a premium Luxe Pack.

Renault’s all-new Clio IV will be revealed later this year, but the the current range starts with a new Expression+ to sit below the core seller Dynamique TomTom and flagship GT Line TomTom.

And from February 1 the company is launching a new customer care package, on all new retail and local business orders, worth in the region of £900 and offering a comprehensive four year/100,000 mile warranty, four years/48,000 miles free routine servicing, four years roadside cover and four years finance.
