THE stunning Aston Martin Rapide and the Cadillac Converj luxury, electric-powered, coupe have been handed the ultimate accolade by car designers worldwide.
The two models won Best Production and Best Concept categories of the Car Design of the Year Awards, following a poll among the professional design community.
In securing the production gong, the Rapide – Aston’s first four-door car since the Lagonda of 25 years ago - narrowly edged out the Ferrari 458 Italia.
But of the ten cars on the shortlist, the Porsche Panamera was the least favourite among the designers who voted.
The Cadillac Converj concept introduced a cab-forward stance and softened Cadillac's traditional angular design, while the interior featured environmentally sustainable and renewable materials.
