TWO months into the French company's bicentenary year, Peugeot is celebrating sales up a massive 70.8% on February of last year, easily outpacing a market on the rise, thanks to the extended scrappage scheme.
Reflecting the general trend towards smaller, fuel efficient cars with low emissions, the 107, 207 and 308 are leading Peugeot’s charge, bolstered by excellent early sales of the award winning 3008 Crossover and 5008 MPV.
Peugeot’s rperformance in the light commercial vehicle sector continues to beat its competitors’ sales to take 12.02% of the market in February, thanks to strong performance from the practical Bipper – the UK’s second best selling light van in 2010 - and Partner, at No. 6 in the sales’ chart.
With 1,378 registrations and a 2.01 per cent market share, Volvo also experienced a successful month – all models performing significantly above last year's February results particularly the Volvo XC90 seven-seat SUV, S80 executive saloon and XC60 crossover.
Nissan in Europe has reported sales of 35,502 units in February, representing an increase of 4% year on year with a market share of 2.9%
